My Blue Mermaid

My boyfriend, Dan, really likes mermaids. I don't know why. He had quite a collection even before I met him. He was in the Navy for a while. He ran a beautiful tropical fish store when I met him. He used to wear a lot of Hawaiian shirts. Roll that together and I guess that sort of person WOULD like mermaids. No tattoos so far, but…

Anyway, I've made a lot of mermaids. Dan gets a few and I sell the rest, or at least that's the plan. This particular mermaid is my own pattern. After making a few I've slimmed the body and lessened the breast size. I just don't think you could swim very fast with those things in the way. I've added webbing to some extent between the fingers knowing that cupping your hands will move more water than just extended fingers. As you can see I don't skimp on the jewelry. If you were the mermaid wandering around the ocean you'd be bound to find something you just had to figure a way to hang on your body somewhere, beads, coins, shells and metal… "ooohh, shiney, and now it's mine!"

I use long hair because I feel men, with few exceptions, prefer women with long hair. I color the hair because I think it turns heads. My hair has been different colors at times. I usually caused more trouble when it was red or had red in it.
